Description

Description of Beds: Kev can sleep up to 3 adults. There are 2 beds consisting of 1 large king-size bed and 1 foldaway single bed. The large bed is 160cm wide and 190cm in length. The end of the large bed folds down easily to create seating when not in use. The single bed can be put up to create a bed that is 70cm wide by 185cm in length and can be collapsed and folded away easily during the day. Kev has 185cm of head clearance inside so nice and roomy with plenty of room to stand.

Description of Seating:Kev has 3 belted seats with head rests. The 2 passenger seats are very spacious and make travelling very comfortable. The double passenger seat swivels to create 2 additional seats in the main living area. 4 adults can sit comfortably in the living area making socialising one of Kev's main features.

Description of Electrical Setup: Kev’s electrical features are one of its best assets. With 2 large 120Ah leisure batteries connected up to a large solar panel on the roof means you can live off-grid for weeks on end with the peace of mind of knowing you won’t run out of power. Kev also has a remote controlled 1500w pure sine wave inverter installed, so you have the option to run 230v mains appliances or charge your E-bike batteries from the connected 4 way socket should you wish. If campsites are more your thing there is a fixed 3-pin socket located underneath the worktop on the base unit which is powered by the 240v mains hookup point located at the rear of the van. There are multiple USB ports and other features connected to the leisure batteries are the water pump and diesel heater. The water pump feeds the sink taps and the heated shower.

About the area: Kev is situated on a driveway in a quiet residential street only 15 minutes from Temple Meads train station in Bristol. There is easy access to all main motorways linking the UK so heading off anywhere is a breeze whether it be Cornwall, Wales, Scotland or anywhere your imagination can take you.

Parking: We are lucky enough to have a driveway big enough to store Kev along with the other vehicles we have in our household meaning we are able to accommodate parking on our driveway for any hirers of Kev. We live on a quiet cul de sac with literally zero passing traffic and I would describe it as extremely safe. Should a hirer wish to get the train or bus to collect Kev we will pick the, up at Temple Meads train station.

Cooking Equipment: All your standard cooking equipment is included with every booking so cooking up a feast with Kev will not be a problem. Kev has a double gas hob with the option to add a gas bbq should you wish and a large fridge freezer to store all your food and drinks. Kev comes with enough cutlery and utensils for 3 people and basic cleaning products such as a dustpan and brush and washing up liquid.

Water and Sanitation: Kev has a pop-up en-suite which is super easy to set up and dismantle which means you can shower and use the toilet with privacy no matter where you are. The shower is fed via a water pump and heated by gas via the Joolca hot tap system. The toilet is a Thetford Porta Potti. Kev has water fed to the sink via the water pump. There are 2no. 25ltr water butts stored under the bench which if filled with drinking water means you are able to drink straight from the tap.

Audio Equipment: Kev has a Bluetooth speaker system fitted so you’re able to listen to music of your choice directly from your smartphone or even watch a movie of your choice via Bluetooth projector.

Type of Heating: Kev has a Diesel heater system located under the bench with a digital monitor/display under the worktop on the base unit. This has kept us toasty all night in conditions of -5 degrees so Kev really is good for all-year-round camping.

Extra Information: One of the main benefits of Kev is the extremely low mileage for a van of its age. Having done only 24000 miles at the time of writing this the van has a lot of life in it and drives absolutely amazingly. It’s very pokey and doesn’t struggle at all even with a fully loaded van. I expect this van to be very reliable for a very long time.

Another one of Kev's main features is the amount of storage there. Besides the large storage area located at the rear, there is a nice amount of storage located overhead at the front. Add to that the high and low-level cupboards inside there is plenty of room to make sure you have everything you need for the trip of your life.

Conversion Story: We purchased Kev semi-converted from a young lad who wanted to convert a van to go and do the north coast 500 in Scotland. Having accomplished his mission he was then heading off to Canada so was looking to sell his van to fund the trip. Since purchasing Kev we’ve added what we believe to be all the necessities to make it a fully practical and efficient off-grid camper, with a couple of luxuries added for good measure. We hope many people make lasting memories with Kev.
