About the area: Willow lives in beautiful Cambridge, with direct public transport connections to London and other nearby towns as well as Stansted and Gatwick airports. If you come by train (just 50 mins from Kings Cross and 30 mins from Stansted airport), Willow is a short walk or taxi ride from Cambridge Station. Cambridge is connected to major motorways headed to both the North and West of the UK, allowing for a traffic-free start to your adventure.
Parking: If you drive to collect Willow, you can park in her normal spot on a quiet residential side street.
Cooking Equipment: Willow’s owners are avid home chefs, so you won’t be caught short in the kitchen! She has a two-burner gas hob, mounted on an extendable unit allowing you to cook either inside or outside the van. It’s a great way to enjoy the open air and limit smells in the van. If the weather is keeping you indoors, Willow’s high-power extraction fan will keep the kitchen ventilated and dry. This van boasts more kitchen counter space than your typical galley kitchen, including a super cool, hidden pop-up larder to keep clutter at bay.
Willow has all you need to cook an absolute feast, including a refrigerator, top-end cookware, quality kitchen knives, tableware for four, a kettle, stovetop espresso maker, toasting rack, and eco-friendly washing up supplies.
Water Facilities: Willow has a fresh water tank in the garage that is easy to top up with the garden hose or jerry cans (included). Hot water is connected to both the sink and external shower. The water is heated using excess heat from the engine, and an optional 240V mains hook up ensures constant hot water when parked at a campsite for an extended period. A portable toilet is available as an optional extra.
Audio Equipment: Willow has built-in speakers and a Bluetooth receiver so you can listen to your own music. The cab has a digital radio with Bluetooth.
Type of Heating: A super-quiet Truma gas heater will keep you toasty no matter the weather.
Conversion Story: Willow was professionally converted by the brilliant Will and Cressida at Light&Soul Campers in Colchester. Like all of Light&Soul’s work, Willow is converted to a masterful and luxurious standard, using reclaimed, recycled, and eco-friendly materials. Amongst her many eco-credentials, she features reclaimed scaffolding counters, sheep’s wool insulation, sustainable cork flooring, and environmentally friendly linen upholstery and curtains. Vintage brass taps sourced from the Orient Express, a 19th century brass sink, and a reclaimed marine porthole window complete her quirky, yet elegant style.
As a medium wheel base (L2H2) Boxer with satnav, parking sensors, and a reversing camera, Willow is easy to drive and a breeze to park. Her 2017 Euro 6 engine means you’ll avoid ultra-low emission zone (ULEZ) charges across Europe or in the UK.
