Description

Description of Beds: Maria sleeps up to three people; two in the double bed and one on the bench bed. The double bed is 138cm wide and 178cm long. Taller people tend to sleep on the side with the windows that recede a further 10cm at each end. The optional third bed measures 62cm wide by 172cm long. Both beds have memory foam mattresses and come with linen bedding as standard.

Description of Seating: There are three belted seats with headrests in the front of the van. The living space is perfect for two but has comfortably accommodated 2 with a kid in tow many times. Inside there is a pullout table between the two bench seats for meals or as a desk while working (if you’re lucky enough to be able to work on the road).

Description of Electrical Setup: There are 2 USB chargers that run on the leisure battery plus standard mains plugs with additional USB points that will work when hooked up to the grid. We also provide a portable large capacity battery that runs the shelf lights but also has plugs for pretty much everything electrical. An optional extra large battery pack with its own solar panel is available which can keep a laptop and 2 phones running off-grid pretty much indefinitely if the sun is out!

About the area: The van is based in London so we imagine the majority of you will be hiring it to leave rather than stay here. We are based near the north circular and M11 from where you can get up to the midland and the north quickly and easily.

Parking: If you drive to collect the van we can provide residents permits which are £10 per day. Coming by train the closest station is Maryland which is a 10 min walk away and on the Elizabeth Line accessible from Liverpool St or by changing at Stratford. If you have any special requirements for the pickup and drop off please contact us directly and we will do what we can to help.

Cooking Equipment: The van has a double gas hob and a fridge/freezer. It comes with 4 of everything for meals - mugs, enamel plates, bowls and cutlery etc. We have also kitted the kitchen out with what we think are all the essentials for proper cooking. There are pots, pans, a colander, various knives, other utensils and a toasting plate.

An optional portable Weber BBQ is available as an extra which comes as a pair with a Solo Stove fire pit.

Water and Sanitation: There is a 70 litre water tank in the back that runs to the kitchen tap and will keep you going for a long weekend if used sparingly. A hot water boiler is available when plugged into the grid. There is a pop-up toilet provided for off-grid use. We do not use chemical toilets as they are not so fun to clean and take up a lot of space so opt for the simpler (and we think much nicer) bivvy loo.

An optional portable shower unit is available as an extra which connects to the gas tank and any water source to create instant hot water for showering and washing up.

Audio Equipment: The van has a stereo that connects to your phone to give you access to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay providing safe access to all of your apps and features while driving - phone, music, maps and messages etc.

There is also a portable Bose speaker in the living space for music while camping.

Type of Heating: The van has a diesel heater which is filled from the tank at the back. It is simple to use and heats the van very quickly even in the winter.

A Solo Stove fire pit is available as an extra. It comes with the Webber BBQ, is super easy to start and makes a perfect campfire every time!

Conversion Story: ‘Maria was the first conversion from Jones Sport Sport Campers - a couple owned business in the Chew Valley. Alex & Laura poured themselves into this van and have been constantly available for questions and support from the moment we made contact. We would love to take credit for the build but it was their labour of love and it shows in the quality throughout. We can say we put our mark on it though, with the interior design inspired by a Miami hotel we fell in love with and drank way too many cocktails in. Much like that hotel, we wanted our camper to feel exuberant, a little bit opulent and the kind of place you never want to leave.
