Description of Beds: Sleeps up to five. Otto sleeps up to two adults and three small children. He has a seating area that converts into a super king bed, and a double upper bunk bed above it that is suitable for two children (three if small). Additionally, there is a cab bed that makes the fifth berth and is suitable for a child. (If preferred, there is ample room on the super king for two adults and a small child, with two kids in the bunk above).

Description of Seating: Five belted seats, plus separate five-person lounge / dining area. One or both of the rear belted seats can be removed if not required, for more space. Otto was designed with maximum flexibility in mind, with three seats in the front cab and up to two more dedicated belted seats with headrests in the rear. Up to three child car seats are available upon request, (each bookable as an extra). There is a large U-shaped sofa bench style seat with a custom-made removable table and is large enough to seat the whole family (seats six easily). The table can also be used outdoors.

Description of Electrical Setup: Otto is very easy to use and is ideal for both campsite and wild camping adventures. Otto can be hooked-up to an electrical point, which not only keeps his battery (large 100Ah AGM leisure battery) fully topped up but also enables his 230V 3 pin sockets. When not hooked up, his electrical charge is continually topped up by the sun (through the large 150W solar panel and 20A MPPT solar charge controller), or from the van’s alternator when driving (via the split charge relay). Otto can run entirely off-grid for days at a time.

Otto comes with low energy spotlights in the kitchen and bedding area (separately switchable), under-cupboard convenience/ambient lighting, and bedside reading lights. Otto comes with a huge number of USB charging sockets for all your family devices, and also has a further cigarette lighter style socket in the rear (in addition to the one in the cab).

About the area: Otto is parked outside our home in a quiet suburb of North East Bristol, with easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways leading to Wales, South-West of England or the North. If you come by train, Otto is an easy taxi ride from Bristol Parkway Train Station.

Parking: There is plenty of free parking on our quiet residential street.

Cooking Equipment: Otto is a foodie’s delight with an incredible kitchen that allows a family feast to be created with ease. Otto kitchen includes a fantastic Thetford Spinflo double-burner gas oven/grill, two-ring gas hob, 50L Dometic fridge with freezer compartment, and a sink with hot and cold water.

He comes with: tableware for five | a chopping board | salad bowl | stove top kettle | cafetiere | frying pan | 2 saucepans | wooden spoons | knives | tin opener | corkscrew/bottle opener | colander | small dustpan and brush | and washing up supplies.

Otto has a large-capacity under-slung gas tank fitted, so you don’t need to worry about running out of gas or changing cylinders in the middle or cooking!

Water and Sanitation: Otto has both hot and cold running water, which feeds both the kitchen sink and external shower. Water can be heated in a few minutes using gas (if you are off grid) and/or electric hook-up (if connected), with just the flick of a switch.

Otto also comes with large underslung clean and grey water tanks, maximising space in the van and allowing extended off-grid operation and great convenience.

For an even more luxurious set-up, and to help keep you clean while on your adventure, a portable toilet, and a dual compartment external shower tent (allowing a shower area and separate dressing / toilet area) are available as optional extras.

Audio Equipment: In the cab, Otto has an entertainment system/ digital radio with Bluetooth, which can easily be paired to your phone. Aux and USB inputs allow you to provide your own music. For movie buffs, or if you just want to keep the kids entertained, a projector and screen combo, and a firestick, are available as optional extras. The projector has a HDMI input if you wish to provide your own device and content.

Type of Heating: A high quality and efficient gas-powered air heater system will keep you warm no matter the weather; simply switch on and Otto is toasty in minutes.

Extra Information: Otto comes with lots of optional extras, to make your camping adventure even more fun. These include an inflatable paddleboard, firepit/BBQ for outdoor cooking, projector and screen for movie nights, camping chairs, bedding, towels, portable toilet, and outdoor double shower / toilet tent.

Otto has parking sensors making him easy to drive and manoeuvre. Otto also has the benefit of off-road tyres making him the perfect van for tackling muddy off grid fields. His 2017 Euro 6 engine means you’ll avoid ultra-low emission zone (ULEZ) charges across Europe or in the UK.

Conversion Story: Otto started life as a well-loved and maintained service van. His professional conversion was undertaken by the renowned Studley Campers and completed in June 2022.
