The Abbey Vogue 2 495 Basics
When it comes to large four-berth single-axle caravans, the Abbey Vogue 2 495 continues to be one of the very best models available. Part of the nine-strong Abbey Vogue 2 range, the 495 is an ideal tourer for those wishing to live a life of luxury while on holiday. As soon as you enter the caravan you can see why it is a firm favourite amongst diehard caravan enthusiasts.
The layout of the Abbey Vogue 2 495 provides a spacious ?U? shaped dining and lounge area that converts into two beds, with a kitchen area in the centre and a double bed and washroom at the other end.
On the outside, the Abbey Vogue?s appearance boasts an eye-catching look with stylishly shaped windows, a one-piece rear panel and alloy wheels. Sleek new reflective graphics bring a splash of colour to the glacier white bodyshell, and the rear panel incorporates attractive light clusters.
First Impressions of the Abbey Vogue 2
The sheer quality of the craftsmanship is what strikes you most when you first enter the interior of the Abbey Vogue 2 495. The beautifully finished woodwork and modern upholstery designs would not be amiss in an upmarket London hotel room. The décor incorporates an attractive range of subtle and understated shades that don?t give the interior a flat feel like some other caravans.
The length of the Abbey Vogue 2 caravan provides a group of four adults with acres of space in which to relax and with the lounge area door closed, it converts into two very separate and private areas too. On first impressions, the design and function of the Abbey Vogue 2 seem to have been very well thought through.
The Abbey Vogue 2 495 has been designed for practical living and provides the owner with superb facilities that are simple to use and make it a desirable home from home. In terms of storage space in the Abbey Vogue 2, it is ample. There are three large wardrobes for hanging clothes and storage areas below the seats in the dining and lounge area where bedding or bulkier items can be stored. There are also overhead lockers in the lounge area and an overhead locker, shelves and a cupboard in the kitchen.
At six-and-a-half feet tall, the class-leading ceiling is high enough to walk around comfortably without ducking lights or doorways and the entrance door is wide and features a drip-stop to ensure you don?t get wet coming in and out after rainfall. There is also an entrance step in the Abbey Vogue 495. Outside there is an easily accessible gas locker at the rear and a front locker with a gas strut to hold it open. The steady points and waste pumps are within easy reach ensuring you don?t have to fumble around underneath the caravan. There is also space for a steel spare wheel and shock absorbers on the wheels ensure a smoother towing experience.
All the windows are easily opened and double-glazed, meaning you can relax in peace and quiet while keeping warm inside or have the windows open during the warmer months. The Abbey Vogue 2 495 is fitted with a smoke alarm and a concealed chip containing construction data. The chassis also holds a serial number.
Attention to detail is apparent throughout the Abbey Vogue 2 495 and goes a long way to making your stay more comfortable. A large rooflight gives the living area a light and spacious feel for when you are relaxing and the quality of the curtains and blinds throughout is top-notch. The drop-in carpet splits into three pieces and is easy to remove for cleaning. There is a radio and CD player with MP3 and iPod compatibility and TV sockets can be found at both ends of the Abbey Vogue 2 caravan.
Cooking, Sleeping and Washing
The hi-tech kitchen in the Abbey Vogue 495 features a separate oven and grill and a combination of gas and electric hobs to ensure you can always finish cooking your meals if replacement gas is not readily available. The fridge can comfortably accommodate enough food for the family and the addition of a microwave means cooking in the Abbey Vogue 2 495 is as easy as cooking at home. The amount of work surface and storage shelves and cupboards will really take you by surprise. A removable drainer and a glass lid for the hob create even more workspace if needed.
The Abbey Vogue 2 495 sleeps four in true luxury having one fixed double bed a further two single beds when the dining area transforms ? all of which are assembled very easily. All the beds are all spacious and well-sprung. This Abbey vogue 2?s washroom is more spacious than some other models and there is a toilet, sink and shower unit and plenty of room to move around.
This Abbey product will appeal to tourers who like to do things in style and luxurious comfort. There are a range of other caravans in the Vogue line-up to cater for two to six people but as a mid-range model, the 495 represents a wise choice and great value for money. For just over £13,000, the fixtures, fittings and accommodation are absolutely superb and there?s a real feel of space throughout. If you want a well designed caravan that can comfortably accommodate four people then you won?t have to look any further.
