BESSACARR CAMEO 525 SL
?The sheer quality of the cabinetry is what strikes you most when you first enter the interior of this caravan.?
When it comes to mid-size four-berth caravans, the Bessacarr Cameo 525 SL continues to be one of the very best models around. As soon as you enter the inviting interior, the well-appointed living space just oozes style and class. This end-washroom model is an ideal tourer for those who wish to travel in style and live life in the lap of luxury. Bessacarr are renowned for creating palaces on wheels and the 2004 525 SL follows the tradition with some aplomb.
The layout of the Cameo 525 SL provides lounge seating in a ?U? shaped configuration, with a kitchen area in the centre as well as dinette seating and an en-suite washroom at the rear.
On the outside, the Cameo?s appearance boasts an eye-catching new look. New graphics in green and gold bring a splash of colour to the glacier white bodyshell, and a new GRP rear panel incorporates distinctive new light clusters.
The sheer quality of the cabinetry is what strikes you most when you first enter the interior of this caravan. It gives one the impression of an up-market London club room with its deep pile carpet and sumptuous upholstery. Everything is done with taste and understatement and it has been very well thought out both in terms of design and function.
The Cameo has been designed for practical living and provides the owner with superb facilities that are so easy to use and makes the 525 SL such a desirable home away from home. The exterior wet locker, for example, allows you to keep those damp boots out of the living accommodation on those inclement days where they would otherwise intrude on the sumptuous interior. The under slung spare wheel carrier is a neat solution to a perennial problem and the reclining front seats provide added comfort and versatility to the standard seating arrangements.
The attention to detail is evident throughout this caravan. Whether you opt for the soothing green upholstery or the relaxing tan, the resulting ambience created by the extensive Cherry wave wood furniture is both rich and luxurious. Neat touches like the CD-player and cocktail cabinet add a level of class to the spacious and comfortable living area. Mini Heki roof lights, added on this 2004 model, provide extra light and the electric ducted blown-air central heating system makes the Cameo 525 SL a cosy all-year-round proposition.
Cooking, Sleeping and Washing
With clever design, Bessacarr have created a very useable and well equipped kitchen facility. The stainless steel appliances include a microwave, a dual fuel hob and 800W electric hotplate with three gas burners. They also manage to fit in a 135-litre fridge with full-width freezer. A new stainless steel sink with pullout chopping board can be utilised to improve the restricted workspace.
The Cameo sleeps three in true luxury. Sleeping arrangements consist of two singles which can also be made up into a very comfortable double if preferred, one single and one optional Pullman bunk over the side dinette (£240 option). These beds can be assembled very easily and are supported on beech sprung slats that really support the cushions very well and provide superior comfort to aid a very restful night?s sleep.
The Cameo 525 SL features a full width washroom with a sealed circular shower, full-length wardrobe, washbasin and electric-flush Thetford toilet. The fittings are a cut above the usual plastic moulded furniture that many manufacturers use these days. The cherry wave wood is continued throughout the en-suite facility providing ample cupboard and overhead locker space.
The Bessacarr Cameo 525 SL will appeal to tourers who like to do things in style and luxurious comfort. Although it comes at a price, just over £17,000, the fixtures, fittings and accommodation are absolutely superb. If you want to spoil yourself then you won?t have to look any further.
